A standard session is one hour long, but this can be tailored as necessary to meet the client’s specific needs.
As I specialise in tutoring high school and university-level mathematics, the age range is approximately 13 to 19 years old.
Sessions are offered in a location convenient for you in the general West Coast area, which includes Table View, Flamingo Vlei, Milnerton, Sunningdale, Parklands, and Bloubergstrand. While I predominantly drive to clients’ homes, I am also able to meet at a neutral location, such as the client’s school or a local library. Alternatively, online sessions can be arranged at the client’s request.
Yes! For clients who live further away or prefer online learning, I offer digital one-on-one lessons at the same rate. As work will be conducted digitally, all notes taken during the session will be supplied to the client in PDF format.
Yes. In order for parents, guardians, or clients to understand the tutoring process, I provide a formal contract that allows us to be on the same page about how I operate right from the start.
Experience demonstrates that tutoring groups of students is less effective than one-on-one lessons. Offering a student my undivided attention allows them to work at their own pace without the pressure of others and creates a safe space in which they can feel comfortable asking direct questions. This ensures that we get to the root of their maths difficulties and address them effectively.
Unlike most tutors, this is my full time profession. Years of experience dedicated to this field has resulted in precisely honing my tutoring skills. As such, I am able to teach maths in a manner that best suits each individual, given that each mind thinks and solves problems in a different way and pace. My skill set does not simply rely on an understanding of mathematical principles, but is grounded in meeting individual students where they are at and demystifying concepts until they are confident in their understanding of maths.
